bmeyer2 Development: About Brett Meyer
Freelancing
I have been freelancing since early 2003. It all started with a badly-taught CISCO web design certification class in high school that wet my appetite and got me off on the wrong foot. After spitting out a few, horrific web pages and learning from my mistakes, my expertise and knowledge began to take off. Through the years, I've learned the importance of simple, elegant, and standards-compliant development and have become extremely successful and passionate in my work.
Web & Software Career
By day, I'm a software engineer at Raytheon NCS in Fort Wayne, IN. By night, I enjoy developing and operating several sites that I own, as well as freelancing for numerous clients. My passion lies with these entrepreneurial opportunities and I hope to one day make a career out of them.
Computer Science Education
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science (Mathematics minor) from Valparaiso University. In a few months, I will begin my master's degree in Applied Computer Science at Purdue University's campus in Fort Wayne, IN. I think that will be enough...
Personal
Most importantly, my faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ, is my driving force and defines my life. Beyond that, I enjoy spending time with my incredible family, my fiance Jenel, and friends. I'm also extremely passionate about all things music; I play several instruments and am obsessed with listening to many genres (except for that country and rap junk). I try to play racket sports and basketball often, since the software career path doesn't do much for your figure.
